SkillHub
PROJECT / 09Keep development knowledge in step with the tools.
Three things to know
- My responsibility
- Workflow design & developer tooling
- Key decision
- Generate tool configurations from shared sources to preserve methods and reduce repeated upkeep.
- Delivery scope
- Used in my development workflow to maintain tool configurations and shared rules.
A versioned source of development skills and rules, with adapters that generate the files required by different AI coding tools and projects.
Generate the parts that repeat.
Each project and coding tool has its own configuration entry points. Maintaining the same rule in several places invites drift. SkillHub keeps a shared registry and generates the appropriate output for each target.
Engineering skills live in version control. Obsidian holds context, decisions and readable indexes, keeping the source of a change traceable.
Carry the method across tools.
Adapters account for different directories, entry points and supported capabilities. Migrations check generated content, links and loadable skills as part of a repeatable process.
The tool grew out of maintaining business systems and AI products in parallel. It also supports the development and verification practices I continue to refine.
My own development infrastructure.
SkillHub is maintained as an internal tool. The case focuses on versioning, tool adaptation and consistency across projects; individual working rules evolve with practice.
